Johnson Family Dental
We care about your smile, and treat patients like family

About Us
For the past two years, Drs. Austin and Whitney (Wolfe) Johnson have established themselves within the Monroe county community through owning their very own dental practice. The newly family of four welcomed their baby boy, Reid, in June of 2024. Between managing their own business and raising a toddler (June) and a baby (Reid), life is more exciting and busy as ever!
Whitney is from Seymour, TN, and went to Heritage High School. Serving her community through dentistry has been her dream since high school. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She obtained her bachelor's degree in mathematics while also competing and earning a scholarship on the Lady Vols Rowing team. Upon graduating college, Whitney became a coach for a local rowing club in Louisville, TN, for two years. She then attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree - where she met her husband and best friend, Austin. It did not take much convincing Austin to settle down with her in East TN, as he fell in love with the east Tennessee area.
Our Services
We offer a variety of general dental services to meet your needs precisely. If we are not comfortable with performing a specialized service, we will refer you to one of our trusted specialty groups.
Comprehensive Exams
We are happy to provide comprehensive exams for our patients, including full mouth radiographs (x-rays).
Limited Exams (Emergencies)
In the case of a dental emergency, we strive to be as accommodating as possible while maintaining our regular schedule.
Radiographs (X-ray)
Along with a complete series of x-rays for comprehensive exams, we provide updated x-rays at dental cleanings as needed.
Fillings
When cavities are detected clinically, we can remove cavities and fill the tooth with a composite resin (a tooth-colored filling material).
Root Canal Therapy
When a tooth becomes infected or if we detect a cavity near the nerve of your tooth, we perform a root canal to remove the pulp tissue
Crown and Bridge
When cavities become too large and compromise a large portion of the natural tooth structure, we recommend a full coverage crown to cover the tooth.

Does your office accept dental insurance?Yes. We accept a wide variety of dental insurances. We do our best to provide you with the best estimate possible regarding your dental treatment cost. Our front office team can help answer more specific questions about your insurance benefits.
-
Do you offer payment plans for treatment?Yes, we currently offer treatment plan financing options through a company called Cherry. If your treatment plan warrants a payment plan, our staff will kindly offer assistance with setting up a payment plan option that is specifically tailored to your individual financial needs. We also offer a membership loyalty program through our office only available to patients without dental insurance.
-
How much will my treatment cost?Due to the complexity of most dental insurances and the variety of treatments that might be needed, it is near impossible to give a cost estimate. After visiting our office for an exam, we can better provide you with an accurate treatment plan cost. Please call the front desk and ask about scheduling your first visit with us.
-
Will my procedure hurt? Here at Johnson Family Dental, we highly value patient comfort and transparency during every visit. While we can't guarantee every operation be fully pain free, we listen and hear your concerns and will not proceed with treatment until you are comfortable and agree to move forward. We believe the patient is in control of their appointment and this one of our top priorities. We offer local anesthesia as well as nitrous oxide on a limited bases. We do not perform general sedation at our office.
-
Do you treat kids?We do see children for routine cleanings, diagnostic x-rays, and exams. Depending on the child and treatment needs, we may refer out to a licensed pediatric dental office to better meet the needs of the child. Treatment is largely dependent on child behavior and type of treatment needed. We do not place space maintainers, arch expanders, or stainless steel crowns "caps" on baby teeth. Most children with high treatment needs would benefit from been seen at a pediatric office where kids are more comfortable.
